Are you looking for a nice place to have lunch with family and friends, or to reminisce after a cremation or funeral? We will gladly serve you and ensure a very tasty and worry-free lunch or a drink with snacks. Eetcafé Thijs is ideally suited for this. This way, you can catch up and share memories with loved ones in a homely setting.
We have an extensive lunch menu featuring well-filled sandwiches, uitsmijters (fried eggs on bread with ham and cheese), and toasted sandwiches, but we also happily serve hot dishes for lunch. Coffee with homemade apple pie is also an option. Eetcafé Thijs is a neighbourhood eatery, so not a trendy place. We always have bar snacks in stock, but what about delicacies like fresh herring with vinegar, ox sausage, asparagus with ham, deviled eggs, or oysters? Many things are possible in consultation.
We have a few quiet spots for you to get together with family and friends. Are there children coming along? Lovely, we have you covered. They can have a great time on one of the squash courts. Shoes off, a soft ball, and off they go 😉

Eetcafé THIJS is located in the Nieuw Sloten district in Nieuw-West. You can park directly outside our establishment, and we are also easily accessible by public transport. Tram line 2 stops just 100 metres from us.
Westgaarde Cemetery, Westgaarde Crematorium, St. Pancratius Cemetery, Zorgvlied, St. Barbara Cemetery and Huis Te Vraag Cemetery are not far from Eetcafe Thijs.
Eetcafé Thijs has 4 spots where you can quietly have lunch or dinner with a group.
The terrace for up to 40 people (with a roof and heaters if the weather dictates), the Snug (20 people; it's upstairs and has a balcony), t’Hoekie (25 people) and the café (for up to 35 people).
