Through this privacy statement, we wish to inform you that our company (Eetcafé Thijs, Sint GIlleshof 5 1066 PZ Amsterdam) collects and may use your personal data to contact you or process a potential reservation. This applies to (potential) customers and to other parties with whom we do business or from whom we purchase products.

What do we use your data for?
By providing us with your personal details, we can send you a quote as a customer or provide you with tailored advice. If you have made a booking with us, we will require your details. It is also necessary to have your details for creating invoices and for any queries regarding the booking.

We do not require you to provide us with your contact details. However, if you choose not to share your details, this may result in your reservation not being finalised.

Sharing data with third parties
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. In some cases, however, we do share your data with parties who perform services on our behalf. Our company uses Microsoft Office and the storage capabilities associated with this program. The data from our administration (which also includes the processing of your personal data) is stored on a computer.

Our newsletter
As part of keeping you informed about news and promotions from our company, we occasionally send out a newsletter. Every time we send you a promotional email, you will have the option to unsubscribe at the bottom of the email.

Online data security personal data
Our website has an SSL/TLS certificate. This means there is a security layer between your browser and our server, ensuring that unauthorised parties cannot intercept your data input. TLS is the successor to the SSL certificate, offering even stronger security. You can also identify our secure website by the padlock symbol before the link (https://). Clicking on this will provide more information about the security certificate. Furthermore, we do everything in our power to prevent unauthorised access to your data. We therefore secure our websites and systems at both an organisational and technical level against, among other things, theft, unauthorised disclosure, and unauthorised access.

How long is personal data kept for?
We retain personal data for seven years (calculated from the end of the financial year in which the order was placed). This is due to the mandatory retention period for our records by the Dutch Tax Administration. After this period, your personal data will be deleted.

Have you had (email) contact with us, but have not become a customer? In that case, we will delete your details one year after the date at the latest.
